He returned in 2016 with Nicoletta Pecorelli to farm 3 hectares of ancient Zibibbo vines using the Alberello Pantesco method — low bush vines planted in conca, the dug-out hollows the Phoenicians developed 2,500 years ago to collect winter rain. Soki Soki is named after the pumice-rich volcanic soil the vines grow in.
