He's held in such regard by the local community that he's one of the few vintners given the honour of carrying the biou, the ceremonial ceremonial harvest bunch, through the town at the annual Fête du Biou. The Côtes à Côtes was actually born from catastrophe: the 2017 frost left so little fruit that André-Jean blended his Trousseau and Pinot Noir together for the first time. He liked it so much he kept going.
