Coquin de Sort 2023 by Domaine Mont de Marie (Thierry Forestier) is a bold and expressive red wine from the Gard in southern France — rustic yet refined, carrying the wild charm of its landscape.
Made from old-vine Grenache and Cinsault grown on limestone and clay soils, the grapes are farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand. In the cellar, Forestier works with native yeasts and minimal intervention, aging the wine in old barrels to preserve purity and texture.
In the glass, it shines deep ruby with violet edges. Aromas of dark cherry, wild herbs, and cracked pepper mingle with notes of earth and smoke. The palate is energetic and balanced — juicy fruit framed by fine tannins and a mineral freshness that lingers long after the sip.
