Gamay from one of Moulin-à-Vent’s finest lieux-dits — weightless, silky, and made by someone who grew up between the Dutraive and Foillard families. It shows.
Gamay • Moulin-à-Vent • Granite • Les Thorins
Elisa Guérin grew up in Moulin-à-Vent, childhood friends with the children of Jean-Louis Dutraive and Jean Foillard — two of Beaujolais’s most celebrated natural winemakers. She left to study in Dijon and work in Paris, but came back from her inaugural 2018 vintage with one clear intention: make wines of purity, delicacy, and terroir. Les Thorins is the finest climat in the appellation — south-facing on a gentle granite slope just above the windmill itself, with 20–30cm of topsoil over solid granite giving perfect drainage and natural mineral tension. Organic farming from the start. Her labels, wildflowers she designed herself, are as quiet and considered as the wine inside.
Carbo bubblegum, crushed peppercorn, deep black cherry, and a stony mineral finish that lingers.
