La Rue aux Loups 2021

This Chenin Blanc, crafted by Nadège Lelandais from 100-year-old vines in the Anjou region of the Loire Valley, is an unparalleled expression of elegance. Laden with notes of frosted pear and ripe pome fruit, its nose is invigorating with herbaceous elements like juniper, mint, and jasmine. The grapes, mainly Chenin Blanc with a touch of Cabernet Franc, are hand-harvested from the 'La Pointe' vineyard, which is characterized by clay/shale soils. The winemaking involves gentle pressing, slow spontaneous fermentation with ambient yeasts, and a patient 12-18 month élevage. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no additional SO2.
