Agustí Costa started Cal Xurriu in 2018 with one focus: finding and protecting small, exceptional old-vine plots in the hills around Sant Sadurní d'Anoia that industrial Cava farming had overlooked. El Bosc — the forest — is one of those parcels. Very old Xarel·lo vines, farmed biodynamically, harvested by hand. Direct-pressed and aged in stainless steel to keep the fruit clean and the vineyard front and centre.
This is a wine about the place and the vine, not the winemaker.
