Copper-hued Pinot Grigio from the hills of Friuli — part orange wine, part rosato, all character. Wild-fermented, unfiltered, and made the way Pinot Grigio was always meant to be in this corner of Italy.

Pinot Grigio • Friuli Venezia Giulia • Biodynamic • Unfiltered

Dimitri Pintar farms 10 hectares of organic and biodynamic vineyards on the rolling marl and sandstone hills around Cividale del Friuli, sheltered from the cold northern winds off the Julian Alps. The Ramato — meaning copper in Italian — is a nod to the traditional Friulian way with Pinot Grigio: skin contact instead of quick pressing, letting the pink-grey skins give colour, texture, and depth. Dimitri harvests in two separate batches: 20% of the fruit is hand-crushed as whole clusters in an open wooden vessel and used as a pied-de-cuve starter; the remainder is harvested 10 days later, destemmed, and gently pressed. Aged eight months in cement tanks, bottled unfined and unfiltered.

This is what Pinot Grigio tastes like when someone actually cares about it.
