Chenin Blanc from 90-year-old vines in Jasnières — pressed straight to barrel, 18 months in élevage, and made by one of the founding figures of French natural wine. Tight, precise, and built to open up slowly.

Chenin Blanc • Jasnières • Old vines • 18 months in barrel

Jean-Pierre Robinot opened Paris's first natural wine bar in the 1980s, founded France's first natural wine magazine, and then walked away from it all in 2001 to return to his native Chahaignes in the Loire and make wine himself. He farms 7 hectares across Jasnières and Coteaux-du-Loir on limestone, red clay, and silex, treating the vines with wild nettle and fern infusions rather than chemicals. L'Iris comes from his oldest parcels — vines over 90 years old, harvested by hand, pressed directly into old barrels where spontaneous fermentation unfolds over months. 18 months in élevage. No SO2, nothing added.

The 2023 is a little more tightly wound than previous years — pristine and elegant, the kind of wine that rewards patience.
