Light, juicy Pinot Noir from Baden — a few hours of skin contact, 16 months in old Burgundy barrels, and 526 bottles to show for it. Emilie and Robrecht keep it simple and it works.
Pinot Noir • Baden • Old Burgundy barrels • 526 bottles
Belgian couple Emilie and Robrecht make DRAP from sourced grapes in Germany, working without additives and with a hands-off approach in the cellar. The 2024 Bird on the Pole comes from clay and limestone soils in Baden — a warm, dry vintage that pushed fruit and juice forward. Just a few hours of skin maceration before pressing, adding a light herbal edge without tipping into tannin. Transferred straight into 220-litre ex-Burgundy barrels with no débourbage, left to ripen for 16 months. Nothing added, nothing removed.
Fresh, fruit-driven, and very easy to reach for.
